SOFTSWISS celebrates breakthrough ideas at AI Hackathon 2026

SOFTSWISS brought together 34 teams from across the company for its AI Hackathon 2026, a 46‑hour challenge dedicated to creating real‑world AI tools.

The event featured a €25,000 prize pool for the winning teams, with participants joining from 21 countries – from Brazil to Vietnam – supported by 13 mentors and 8 technical advisors.

For the first time in SOFTSWISS hackathon history, two teams shared first place. One first-place solution captures early business signals and converts them into qualified sales leads, while the other provides an end-to-end mechanism for managing the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) 2.0. Each team received €7,000.

Second place went to a team whose AI-powered casino constructor generates colours, visuals and content to accelerate casino setup. Third went to the team that came up with the gamification concept built around city construction mechanics.

The AI Hachaton also included a solo participation track. The winner presented a proof of concept of an AI-powered tool for reviewing payment service provider (PSP) integration documentation. A special mention went to a solution for monitoring branded search results across priority markets.

Denis Romanovskiy, Chief AI Officer at SOFTSWISS, said: “This AI Hackathon proved one more time that real results can be achieved with AI. With roughly 70% of submitted projects assessed as potentially viable, SOFTSWISS will track all initiatives for structured follow-up. This result shows that non-technical teams can develop tools with clear potential for the product pipeline.”

SOFTSWISS will next bring that same focus on technology and AI to Tech Race Summit 2026, its debut cross-industry high-load technology conference taking place on 10 September in Warsaw, Poland. The event will bring together engineers, technology executives, infrastructure specialists, and product teams to discuss AI, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and digital product development.

The programme already includes speakers and contributors from Google, AWS, Oracle, Cloudflare, Fastly, Gcore, ScyllaDB, and others, with Andrey Doronichev – former Google executive and founder of AI startup Optic – confirmed as the first keynote speaker. The organisers expect around 1,000 attendees from across the technology and business sectors.

Malaysia’s RGB International secures UAE gaming vendor license

RGB International Bhd has secured a vendor license in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) allowing it to sell electronic gaming machines, positioning the Malaysia-based supplier for potential opportunities ahead of the expected opening of the UAE’s first legal casino at Wynn Al Marjan Island in 2027.

The application, submitted about a year ago, was recently approved by UAE authorities, executive director Ganaser Kaliappen said, according to local media outlet The Edge Malaysia. RGB has paid processing fees of about MYR10,000 ($2,506) ahead of the formal issuance of the license.

“This effectively enables us to operate as an approved vendor for the supply of machines, as well as related services and maintenance in the region,” Ganaser said at the company’s earnings briefing on Wednesday.

The development comes after Wynn Resorts received the UAE’s first commercial gaming license from the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), which regulates, licenses and supervises commercial gaming activities and facilities in the country.

“While operations are still some time away, it puts us in a good position to build relationships and explore future business opportunities, whether in machines, services or related offerings,” Ganaser said.

RGB, a total solutions provider of electronic gaming and amusement machines, operates across Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Singapore, Macau and the Philippines. The company is targeting sales of about 3,000 units this year and has secured around 2,000 orders to date, including 500 machines sold in the first quarter.

Chief operating officer for leisure Chuah Eng Meng said sales could reach 3,500 to 3,800 machines if geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and between Cambodia and Thailand improve. He said demand is coming from the Philippines, while RGB is also in discussions with Vietnam and seeing leasing demand from Cambodia.

RGB reported first-quarter net profit of MYR9.32 million ($2.35 million), down 23 percent year-on-year, while revenue rose 19 percent to MYR87.38 million ($22.01 million).

Kjerulf Ainsworth raises stake in Ainsworth Game Technology to 9.55%

Kjerulf Ainsworth, a son of Ainsworth Game Technology founder Len Ainsworth, has increased his voting power in the Australian slot machine maker to 9.55 percent following a series of on-market share purchases and acceptances under his earlier proportional takeover offer.

According to a Form 604 filing, Ainsworth now has a relevant interest in 32,160,635 fully paid ordinary shares, up from 27,522,207 shares, or 8.17 percent, in his previous notice dated March 12th. The latest change in his holding occurred on June 2nd.

The filing shows that the largest single acquisition was made on June 2nd, when Ainsworth bought 2,083,000 shares on market at AU$1.60 ($1.14) per share. Other purchases were made from March to June at prices ranging from AU$1.05 ($0.75) to AU$1.60 ($1.14) per share.

The stake increase follows Ainsworth’s proportional off-market takeover offer, launched in March, to acquire 5.5 percent of each shareholder’s shares at AU$1.30 ($0.93) per share. The offer was unconditional.

Austrian gaming equipment group Novomatic remains Ainsworth Game Technology’s controlling shareholder. Its earlier takeover bid closed in February without reaching the 75 percent threshold needed to take the company private.

Ainsworth recently said it expected first-half revenue of about AU$116 million ($82.8 million), down 24 percent year-on-year, while profit before tax, excluding currency impacts and one-off items, was forecast at about AU$1 million ($713,954).

Request Network brings crypto payments with wallet screening to iGaming

Request Network, a major Web3 payment protocol since 2017, announced new features that the iGaming sector has needed for a long time. iGaming was the first to embrace crypto payments at scale, and yet the sector could not rely on decentralized technology at scale.

It relied on multiple crypto processors with limited reach, with friction on all flows, and counterparty risks due to the funds’ custody.

Request Network is launching a set of technologies that breaks this pattern.

Reaching 95% of the global stablecoin supply

iGaming operators need to accept crypto deposits from any player globally, but players’ holdings are fragmented across chains and tokens. Accepting any token meant setting up and managing wallets on every chain, or delegating to payment service providers, leaving the players captive to those providers.

Operators now have the ability to own only one wallet and collect globally with one integration. Thanks to Request Network’s decentralized, permissionless, and cross-chain technologies, players can now pay with whatever they own, while the operators receive what they want on the chain they choose. Neither side needs to know which chain the other side is using.

With Request Network, operators now reach 95% of the global stablecoin supply and active users through a single integration, across seven chains (Ethereum, BNB, Tron, Base, Polygon, Arbitrum and Optimism).

One-click secure deposits for the players

iGaming players just want to deposit and play. But paying in crypto usually meant bridging, swapping and holding gas before executing a deposit, and sometimes even running penny tests to make sure the address was correct. The process is intimidating, creating friction and ultimately causing drop-offs.

Request Network provides the players with a decentralized secure payment page, where they can just choose the chain and token they want to pay with in a single gasless transaction, where bridging and swapping happen behind the scenes.

Additionally, this decentralized page is equipped with security features protecting payers from interacting with malicious smart contracts.

The result is an intuitive and secure one-click deposit experience with one of the highest completion rates in crypto.

Wallet screening on deposits to protect the recipients

iGaming operators accepting crypto are exposed to asset freezing and wallet blacklisting. Most screenings happen after the transaction, only flagging the risk once the funds have reached the operator’s wallets, exposing them to long legal procedures to release the frozen funds.

To mitigate that, Request Network allows the recipient to screen the sending wallet before the funds move. The protocol connects natively with Hypernative, which provides market-standard policies to identify and restrict high-risk funds from reaching the recipient. The player will only be able to deposit funds if their wallet complies with the screening policy in place.

If a recipient needs to defend the provenance of its funds, Request Network allows the recipient to store all the screening results for later use.

The result is that operators can now confidently accept funds from on-chain wallets, reducing the risk of frozen assets and better protecting their operations.

Built for the long run, governed by a foundation

iGaming operators, white label providers and PSPs today have two options to accept and disburse crypto payments at scale, and neither is perfect. The first relied on a globally fragmented crypto processing market, with multiple integrations to maintain, whereas the second one relied on larger providers, with changing risk appetites and regulatory coverage; both options carried important continuity risks.

By being decentralized, permissionless and accessible to anyone, Request Network is becoming the only integration you’ll need to collect or disburse stablecoins globally. The protocol has been developed by a community-owned Swiss foundation since 2017 and funded through its REQ token, providing it with neutrality and resilience.

Tristan Wallaert, CEO at Request Network

The result is a single crypto acceptance technology that can be relied upon across geographies, while offering the most competitive costs on the market.

“Crypto was supposed to replace traditional payment methods, but the reality is that a few components were missing to make it a reality,” said Tristan Wallaert, CEO of the Request Network Foundation. “It was still too complex, with too many risks on both sides for money to move freely as intended. At Request Network, we went back to the drawing board to redefine what crypto payments should look like: something simple, scalable, reliable and safe. We now believe that crypto is ready for a fresh start.”

Gal Sagie, CEO and Co-Founder, Hypernative, added: “iGaming was one of the earliest and most natural fits for crypto payments, and yet the compliance infrastructure needed to make it work at scale has lagged. What Request Network has built here closes a real gap. Pre-transaction wallet screening means operators can accept funds with confidence, not just optimism. That’s the kind of security layer that turns promise into a functioning market.”

Former Macau finance chief joins airport board, with successor still unnamed

0

Former Macau Secretary for Economy and Finance Tai Kin Ip has been appointed as a member of the Macau International Airport Company’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee, according to an executive order published in the Official Gazette on Wednesday.

Tai resigned on April 16th for ‘personal reasons’, just 16 months after taking office, and was later formally removed from the post by the State Council.

No successor has yet been appointed to the role of Secretary for Economy and Finance, which oversees Macau’s gaming industry through the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ).

The appointment was part of a broader reshuffle of the airport operator’s governing bodies.

The Macau International Airport Company also named former Legislative Assembly vice president Chui Sai Cheong as chairman of the Board of Directors, succeeding Ma Iao Hang.

Zhang Yun replaced Simon Chan as chairman of the company’s Executive Committee, although Chan remains a committee member. Pun Weng Kun, the former Sports Bureau president who coordinated Macau’s participation in the 15th National Games, has also joined the Executive Committee.
