The recently formed General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is making its presence known by requiring all operators in the region to suspend operations effective January 1. This includes popular lottery operators such as Mahzooz and Emirates Draw, with no timeframe for the suspension of play having been given yet.

Galaxy has upped the game. According to gaming expert Ben Lee, the new Raffles Hotel has “reached a whole new level of luxury gaming”, pushing the other five operators to innovate and compete in a new echelon they haven’t yet faced. Meanwhile, Macau’s 3Q23 results, as announced by the city’s gaming watchdog, show few surprises, as mass dominates – while raising questions over what exactly premium mass is.

Gaming operator Galaxy Entertainment Group has initiated the soft opening of its new Raffles Hotel hotel in Cotai today. The all/suite hotel is a partnership between Galaxy with Accor and Raffles Hotels & Resorts, and features 450 suites.

Investment bank Citigroup notes Galaxy Macau Phase 3 has a "solid debut" of its premium mass room, recording a 52 percent higher average wager per player compared to pre-COVID levels.

Raffles Hotel, a luxury hotel part of Cotai casino resort Galaxy Macau, is planning its soft opening on August 16th.  The news was shared on Wednesday on the Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) 's Facebook page.

After seeing the local staffing shortage worsen, Raffles Hotel at Galaxy Macau will not be ready for its planned opening date before the Labor Day Golden Week.
