According to the operator, “the opening of Raffles at Galaxy Macau marks the 7th hospitality brand at the integrated resort and raise the bar for luxury hospitality in the region.”

The hotel features approximately 450 suites and was initially planned to open in the second half of 2021. Its opening was postponed several times due to the COVID.  This year, after lifting all travel restrictions, the labor shortage became the main reason that delayed its inauguration in the second quarter of the year.

Looking ahead to Raffles Hotel’s opening, notes the operator, there will be more luxury dining and entertainment choices, such as Macau’s Long Bar and a new Sushi-Kappo restaurant concept by Three-Star Michelin Chef Masaaki Miyakawa.

The mega-integrated resort’s other non-gaming offerings: Galaxy International Convention Center (GICC) and Galaxy Arena opened this April. They were the first non-gaming entertainment and MICE facilities launched under the company’s new 10-year gaming concession that started on January 1st.

Under its new gaming license, Galaxy has pledged to invest nearly 97 percent of the $3.5 billion total new investment in non-gaming, with further promises to diversify to overseas consumer markets.

Following a strong rebound in tourism since January, some delayed hotel projects in Macau have accelerated their pace to enter the market, such as the Treasure Island Hotel Macau, located on the peninsula nearby Wynn Macau.

Treasure Island Resort World Hotel has announced its soft opening this summer, and its Shopping Center is going to open officially on October 1st.
