Gaming operator Galaxy Entertainment Group has initiated the soft opening of its new Raffles Hotel hotel in Cotai today. The all/suite hotel is a partnership between Galaxy with Accor and Raffles Hotels & Resorts, and features 450 suites.

Raffles Hotel, a luxury hotel part of Cotai casino resort Galaxy Macau, is planning its soft opening on August 16th.  The news was shared on Wednesday on the Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) 's Facebook page.

After seeing the local staffing shortage worsen, Raffles Hotel at Galaxy Macau will not be ready for its planned opening date before the Labor Day Golden Week. 

Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) is planning to announce open its new signature hotel project Raffles in April, according to sources. The hotel features approximately 450 suites and had been planned to open in the second half of 2021.

In the latest investment memo published by Deutsche Bank, analyst Carlo Santarelli notes that Macau gaming operator Sands China, which has been the market share leader, is facing new challenges regarding rivalry in both gaming market share and hotel room inventory.

Andaz Hotel, a luxury hotel part of Cotai casino resort Galaxy Macau, is planning its official opening on September 15th, following the launch of Raffles Hotel in the same integrated resorts (IR) in mid-August.
