Belle Corporation, the Philippine-listed parent company of Premium Leisure Corp (PLC), has announced that it saw a 24 percent yearly drop in gaming revenue from its share of City of Dreams Manila during the first half of the year, to $16.43 million.

In response to a recent Reuters article reporting on plans to invest in an integrated resort north of Manila, Belle Corp. has issued a clarification regarding the status of its potential casino project in the Clark Freeport Zone, stating the project is still in very early stages.

Belle Corp’s consolidated revenues improved by 3 percent to $98.6 million in 2023 from the $95.4 million recorded in 2022. These were driven mainly by other gaming-related revenues.

City of Dreams Manila drove a strong increase in revenue for Belle Corp, at least in regard to its gaming segment, with figures up 28 percent year-on-year, to PHP1.23 billion ($22.46 million) during the first half-year.

Belle Corporation was buoyed by first-half figures for 2022, recording a 61% revenue increase to  Php2.82 billion (US$50.5 million).

Belle Corp. said its share of gaming revenue from the City of Dreams Manila dropped 20 percent in the first quarter due to Covid restrictions and ongoing border closures.

Belle Corp, which gets a share in revenue from Melco Resorts & Entertainment’s City of Dreams Manila, said the contribution from the casino business for 2021 had doubled.

Philippines-listed Belle Corp, a co-licensee of Manila’s City of Dreams casino reported an 84 percent rise in net income for the first nine months of 2021, reaching P693.5 million.
