SJM executive director Angela Leong has become the sole owner of L’Arc Entertainment, the company behind the L’Arc Macau casino. 

Macau legacy gaming operator SJM says that it has successfully negotiated a new services agreement with company Director Angela Leong’s wholly-owned L’Arc Entertainment Group to operate the casino in the Macau-peninsula property.

SJM Resorts, title sponsor of the 2021 CTA Tour SJM Professional Finals (Macau) and National Tennis Championships celebrated the success of the 7-day tournament. During the finale on 12 December, SJM Managing Director Ms. Angela Leong presented SJM souvenirs to the Men’s Singles Champion and the first runner-up. Ahead of the Women’s Singles Championship match, Dr. Ambrose So, Director of SJM, held a coin toss to determine which player would serve first.

SJM Holdings Ltd, a Macau casino operator, has proposed a significant increase in the annual caps of its service agreement with L’Arc Entertainment, as well as the annual caps of leasing the Jai Alai building.

Macau’s government is refusing to provide specifics on the fate of the Macau Jockey Club, after last week it was revealed that the property was no longer able to accept bets from numerous countries and could even close within this year.

The Macau Jockey Club is facing hurdles, as it has been prohibited from accepting bets from abroad – from regions such as Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Internal politics have long plagued SJM and its parent company STDM, begging the question of who will step in to fill the void that the venerated Vice-Chairman and CEO leaves.
