Macau gaming operator Galaxy Entertainment Group’s chairman, Lui Che Woo, has emerged as one of the top 10 wealthiest tycoons on Forbes’ 2024 list of Hong Kong’s 50 Richest.
Forbes Asia reports that the collective wealth of these 50 tycoons has decreased to $296 billion from $324 billion the previous year.
On Wednesday, Lui Che Woo’s net worth stood at $12.1 billion, placing him as the 153rd wealthiest individual worldwide.
Pansy Ho, chairwoman of Shun Tak Holdings and also chair and executive director of MGM China, secured the 22nd position with a fortune of $3.7 billion, as of the same day, ranking 779th globally.
Angela Leong, an executive director of SJM Holdings with ties to Macau, secured the 33rd position on the list, accumulating a wealth of $2.4 billion. However, Forbes classifies Angela Leong under the real estate industry, instead of gaming.
Lawrence Ho, Melco Entertainment’s chairman and chief executive, has been on the list for 10 consecutive years but was not included this year.
