Jeju Dream Tower reported a significant year-on-year increase in casino revenue for the first half of 2025, despite a month-on-month decline in both its casino and hotel divisions in June.
According to provisional figures released by the company’s IR team on July 1st, Jeju Dream Tower’s casino revenue for June reached KRW35.8 billion ($26.2 million), down 13.4 percent from KRW41.4 billion ($29.9 million) in May, but up 88.1 percent from KRW19.0 billion ($13.8 million) in June 2024.
Table games brought in KRW34.4 billion ($25.1 million) in June, a 12.8 percent decline from the previous month, yet a 92.6 percent surge year-on-year. Revenue from machine games dropped 26.8 percent from May to KRW1.44 billion ($1.1 million), but still marked a 20.3 percent increase from a year earlier.
Hotel revenue for June came in at KRW6.83 billion ($4.9 million), representing a 13.8 percent decrease from KRW7.92 billion ($5.7 million) in May, and a 13.2 percent decline from KRW7.87 billion ($5.7 million) in June 2024 — reflecting ongoing weakness in the non-gaming sector.
For the first half of 2025 (January to June), cumulative casino revenue totaled KRW194.6 billion ($140.4 million), a 42.5 percent increase over the same period in 2024. This was driven by robust growth in table game revenue, which climbed 43.6 percent to KRW184.7 billion ($132.8 million), while machine game revenue rose 24.2 percent year-on-year to KRW9.91 billion ($7.1 million).
In contrast, cumulative hotel revenue fell 9.8 percent year-on-year to KRW36.0 billion ($25.9 million), compared to KRW39.9 billion ($28.8 million) in the first half of 2024.
Customer activity at the tables also rose notably. The table drop — the amount customers spent to buy chips — totaled KRW219.2 billion ($157.7 million) in June, up 12.9 percent from May and 89.6 percent higher than a year earlier. The cumulative table drop for January to June reached KRW1.02 trillion ($738.5 million), representing a 45.7 percent jump compared to the first half of 2024.
The reported casino revenue excludes agent commissions and may differ from figures released by the Korea Casino Association.
As of the end of 2024, casino operations accounted for 62.5 percent of Jeju Dream Tower’s total revenue, while the hotel segment contributed 18.2 percent.
