Philippine-based iGaming giant DigiPlus has announced that it is ‘on track to launch its Brazil operations this September’.
According to a company release on Tuesday, this is ‘unlocking a gaming market twice the size of the Philippines and paving the way for new sources of growth’.
The group has long had its sights set on Brazil, securing its federal license to operate land-based, online sports betting, electronic games, live studio games and other fixed-odds betting in the country in January.
It subsequently appointed Graham Tidey as country manager for its operations in Brazil – under its wholly owned subsidiary DigiPlus Brazil Interactive Ltda.
Now the group enters a new chapter, noting that ‘Brazil is one of Latin America’s fastest-growing gaming markets, with an estimated market size of $4.6 billion for iGaming’.
The group now plans to ‘deliver a fresh line-up of livestreamed games, slots, table games, and exclusive self-developed digital entertainment content designed to thrill local players in Brazil’.
Speaking of the new development, DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio Tanco noted that “Our entry into Brazil is part of our strategic expansion program to usher DigiPlus’ next phase of growth”.
The Fortune Southeast Asia 500-listed company notes that a dedicated team is already in place in Brazil, ‘ensuring that DigiPlus Brazil delivers not just popular global games, but also high-quality local experiences and responsible gaming’.
