The legitimacy of electronic gaming licenses in Guam is still up in the air, with attorneys on both sides arguing their cases to the Guam Supreme Court on Wednesday.
Last year, electronic gaming machines revoked all licenses that existed prior to July 1, 2020, according to a report from Post Guam.
The change in policy is a result of a court judgment that determined that rules and regulations that the Department of Revenue and Taxation (the department that issues licenses) that date back to prior gubernatorial administrations are void.
Defending the position of the EGM industry on Wednesday was attorney Randy Cunliffe, representing Guam Music Inc., a company that owns and operates many of the machines involved in the case.
