Airport lounge for Hong Kong and Zhuhai Airports launched in Venetian

These companies include Hong Kong Macau Airport Passenger Services Limited, Hong Kong International Airport (China) Limited, and Zhuhai International Airport Management Limited.

According to local media reports, the airport lounge held its opening ceremony on Thursday morning (May 23rd). As Macau’s first “Dual Cities” airport lounge, The Venetian City Airport Lounge has received support from the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department and the Zhuhai Civil Aviation Department.

The lounge provides flight information inquiries, check-in services, and sells bus tickets directly to the Hong Kong International Airport and Zhuhai Airport, as well as shuttle bus tickets, waiting services, and other services for travelers between the Hong Kong and Zhuhai airports.

The report describes how the airport lounge aims to build an integrated transportation system of ‘air-land connectivity and efficient integration’, better serving international travelers and promoting regional coordinated development. It also aims to assist Macau in its development into a world tourism and leisure center.

According to a previous study by Seaport Research, in 2023, Zhuhai Airport handled 11.5 million passengers (approximately 90 percent of the traffic in 2019) with service to 84 mainland cities, indicating its growing importance as a transport hub.

The consultancy firm believes that the strategic positioning of Zhuhai Airport as a gateway to Macau offers a cost-effective alternative for travelers. This aligns with the broader vision of the Greater Bay Area initiative, aimed at fostering closer economic cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau.
