Macau’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) in October reached its highest level since the start of the pandemic, rising to MOP24.09 billion ($3 billion) — a 15.9 percent year-on-year increase and about MOP1.9 billion ($237 million) higher than the previous record of MOP22.16 billion ($2.77 billion) set in August this year.

The figure reflects the strong return of gamblers during the Golden Week holiday period and the effectiveness of non-gaming initiatives introduced by casino operators, as tourists flocked to the city. Despite the disruption caused by Typhoon Matmo, Macau recorded 1,144,401 visitor arrivals over the eight-day Golden Week holiday (October 1st–8th, 2025), averaging about 143,000 visitors per day.
For the first ten months of 2025, cumulative GGR stood at MOP205.43 billion ($25.64 billion), representing an 8 percent increase year-on-year. However, the figure remains 16.7 percent below the same period in 2019, when GGR totaled MOP246.74 billion ($30.8 billion).

Operators expressed optimism that October’s robust performance would support stronger growth in the fourth quarter, noting that their ongoing focus on non-gaming attractions and entertainment offerings is expected to boost visitation further during the festive December period.
