Ainsworth announces departure of Chief Technology Officer

Australian gaming machine manufacturer Ainsworth Game Technology Limited (AGT) has disclosed the departure of its Chief Technology Officer (CTO), David Bollesen.

The departure, described as a mutual agreement, is effective immediately, as affirmed by the company in an official statement.

AGT expressed gratitude towards Bollesen for his ‘substantial contributions’ and expertise throughout his tenure with the organization.

CEO Harald Neumann also conveyed appreciation for Bollesen’s leadership in executing transitional product strategies, which he said positioned the company for sustained enhancements in product performance and growth across all operational regions.

“David has overseen the execution of transitional product strategies which have laid the foundations to position the Company for continued improvements in product performance and the achievement of growth across all regions. I thank David for his dedication and contribution during his service with the Company and we wish him well for the future,” stated Neumann.

Furthermore, Neumann confirmed the commencement of a search for a new CTO, who will be stationed at the company’s operations in Las Vegas.

In the interim, the responsibilities of the CTO role will be managed internally by regional presidents in collaboration with game studio leaders.

Neumann expressed confidence in the existing management within product development areas, assuring stakeholders of a seamless continuation of the planned product roadmap without disruption.

AGT indicated that the departure of Bollesen marks a transitional phase for the company as it embarks on the search for new leadership to ‘drive its technological endeavors forward’ and objectives of innovation and growth in the gaming technology sector.

The group reported a net loss after tax of AU$9.0 million ($5.8 million) for full year 2023, compared to the net profit after tax of AU$10.2 million ($6.8 million) in the prior year.
