The 2026 Sands Shopping Carnival has officially opened at The Venetian Macao, bringing together more than 580 exhibitors, family-friendly attractions and exclusive shopping promotions in its seventh consecutive year.
Running from July 23-26, the four-day event continues to provide Macau’s largest complimentary exhibition and sales platform for SMEs, community organizations and Sands retailers while supporting local consumption and tourism development.

Now firmly established as one of Macau’s most anticipated annual events, the Sands Shopping Carnival has grown significantly since its launch in 2020. What began as an initiative to support local businesses during challenging economic conditions has evolved into a signature tourism and consumption event that attracts residents and visitors from across Macau and the Greater Bay Area.

Over the past six years, the carnival has welcomed more than 640,000 visits and provided over 4,000 complimentary exhibition booths for local SMEs, social enterprises and retailers. By removing participation costs, Sands China continues to offer businesses a valuable platform to showcase products, expand their customer reach and strengthen brand visibility.
This year’s edition features eight themed exhibition zones, including Household Products, Gourmet and Wine, Cultural and Creative, Sands Retailers, Macau Specialties and Souvenirs, Food Court, Play and Fun, and the new Sports Experience Zone. Together, the zones create a vibrant retail and entertainment destination that highlights both international brands and Macau’s diverse local business community.

The event places a strong spotlight on local enterprises, including century-old Macau brands, recognized “Macao Specialty Shops,” creative businesses and niche retailers. An expanded Cultural and Creative Zone welcomes brands from Hong Kong and other Greater Bay Area cities, while the Food Court showcases popular eateries and trending culinary concepts from across Macau.
A new Sports Experience Zone adds an interactive element to this year’s event, featuring basketball challenges that build excitement ahead of the NBA China Games 2026 at The Venetian Arena later this year. Visitors can also enjoy pickleball activities alongside a variety of family-oriented attractions.
In addition to shopping and dining opportunities, the carnival offers a diverse programme of community activities. Returning favourites include the Greater Bay Area Karaoke King Singing Competition, the Little Master Chef Workshop for children, a dedicated Play and Fun Kids Area, and an open Busking Corner that allows aspiring performers to showcase their talents.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Sands China Executive Vice Chairman Dr. Wilfred Wong highlighted the event’s evolution into a key platform for community engagement, local entrepreneurship and economic development. He noted that the carnival not only stimulates local spending but also celebrates Macau’s creativity, diversity and inclusive spirit while creating valuable opportunities for SMEs.
The event has also earned strong support from government and industry leaders. Macau Government Tourism Office Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes emphasized the importance of quality retail experiences in strengthening Macau’s appeal as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure, while Macao Chamber of Commerce President Ma Chi Ngai praised the carnival’s contribution to SME development and economic diversification.
Open to the public free of charge from July 24-26, with complimentary shuttle bus services and free parking available, the 2026 Sands Shopping Carnival once again demonstrates Sands China’s long-term commitment to supporting local businesses, enhancing tourism experiences and contributing to Macau’s sustainable economic growth.
