Aquis Entertainment returned to profit in 1H21 on the back of “strong” revenue despite operating restrictions that limit its venue’s capacity.

The Australian operator of Casino Canberra posted a profit of A$366,365, compared with a loss of $2.7 million a year earlier. Revenue from operations jumped 147.5 percent to $14.6 million.

Since the end of the reporting period, Casino Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory has been forced to close again due to an outbreak of Covid. The casino shut its doors on August 12 and will not be permitted to open until at least Friday, September 17.
