New Zealand and Australian gaming operator SkyCity Entertainment Group has announced the appointment of former Aristocrat executive Jason Walbridge as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer.
The group announced the hiring via a Wednesday morning release, with SkyCity Board Chair Julian Cook noting “Jason has extensive global experience in the land-based and online-gaming industries, which will position him well to lead SkyCity through its next phases”.
Walbridge is expected to begin by early July of this year, with the appointment including a move back to New Zealand to handle operations.
The company notes that prior to his upcoming role, Walbridge had spent some 18 years with Aristocrat Leisure – in executive roles in New Zealand and the United States.
Walbridge also more recently worked with online gaming supplier NYX Gaming Group and its later acquirer Light & Wonder.
Callum Mallett will continue in the position of interim CEO until Walbridge commences, with his confirmation subject to regulatory approval.
