In a move to return its business to pre-pandemic levels Macau ferry operator TurboJET has announced plans to cooperate with the SAR's six gaming concessionaires.

According to the Macau Marine and Water Bureau (DSAMA), there are 100 ferry services per day on the Hong Kong-Macau route, translating to a ferry departing every 15 minutes during peak times. The number represents an increase of five times compared with the initial period of resumption on 8 January.

Ferry operator TurboJet has announced that it’s going to increase the frequency of sailings between Macau and Hong Kong in mid-May, with ferries every 15 minutes departing from the Taipa ferry terminal and every half-hour from the Macau terminal.

Macau is going to recommence ferry services to the Shenzhen airport, starting from Tuesday, according to reports.

Ferries between Macau and the center of Hong Kong are set to resume soon, as the ferry company awaits authorization to resume the service which has been shut down for nearly three years.

Macau gaming sector stocks rallied in the range of 2 to 7 percent on Tuesday. J.P. Morgan attributes the surprise bump to the end of the concession submission process and ferry resumptions. 

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has announced a new free ticket offer forthea bus and ferry service from Hong Kong to Macau.

Macau’s tourism office sets a goal to draw 3 million international visitors this year by investing MOP 100 million ($12.4 million) to subsidize 100,000 international air tickets.   However, the industry had mixed reactions.

Macau weathered a better storm between Sunday and Monday, as the latest Typhoon 8 to hit its shores did not prompt a total shutdown of casino services in the city.

Macau authorities ordered a nine-hour shutdown of all casinos starting late Friday night as the city raised the No. 9 storm signal at 11 pm.
