SJM Resorts has become the latest Macau gaming concessionaire to announce a pay raise for its employees.

All eligible team members effective 1 April 2024 with 99.5 percent of employees benefiting from the pay raised

All eligible team members who joined the company before 1 January 2024, with a monthly base salary of MOP16,000 ($1,987) or below will receive a salary increment of MOP600 ($74), while those members with a monthly salary above MOP16,000 ($1,987) will receive a 2.5 percent increment.

SJM considered that the wage increase was in appreciation of these employees’ dedication and contributions to the group.

Last week five other local six gaming operators revealed their plans to increase employee salaries, following their earlier announcement of a year-end bonus equivalent to one month’s gross salary.

The increase was announced by SJM Resorts, S.A., the gaming license holder and subsidiary of SJM Holdings. According to corporate reports, SJM Holdings employed approximately 18,400 full-time employees, as of the end of June last year.
