Macau SLOT, which offers lottery and sports betting services, said net profit for 2020 was down 37 percent after sporting events were cancelled worldwide due to Covid.

Profit was MOP96 million ($12.1 million).

Macau Slot recently lost its long-standing monopoly to offer sports betting and instant lotteries in Macau. The government extended its license for a further three years until June 2024, but on a non-exclusive basis.

The government also said the supplier may operate other forms of lotteries or mutual betting, through regulations to be submitted to the approval of the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Department.
