The President of the Macau Hotel Association expects the booking rate for the May golden week to reach 70 percent.
“With the Golden Week, we have a couple of days. We probably go to 70% and it’s still picking up. Day by day we still see new bookings coming in. I think everyone in Macau will see that businesses get really a big boom upwards.” said Rutger Verschuren of the association.
Verschuren however said it will be a while before Macau’s hotels go back to their pre-pandemic numbers.
“Definitely and of course the main week is fantastic, but after that, it doesn’t look so great frankly speaking, but it’s better than months ago. A lot better than last year, so I think we’re looking forward to a healthy summer.”
