Macau welcomed over 200,000 MICE visitors between January and March, including 15,000 trade visitors. Authorities say they’re now expecting over 20,000 business visitors to attend conferences in Macau over the second half of the year.
The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute – a large subsidizer of Macau’s MICE industry – notes that the city’s latest MICE venue already attracted a corporate conference with 11,000 business visitors from ‘all over the world and the mainland provinces and cities’.
MICE facilities also continue to increase, with Galaxy’s new convention center and 16,000-seat arena coming online. The institute notes that the city now boasts more than 240,000 square meters of MICE venues and 40,000 hotel rooms, claiming ‘Macau has the capacity to host any size and type of conferences and exhibitions’.
