Galaxy Entertainment announces discretionary bonus for employees

Macau gaming operator Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has announced a ‘2023 discretionary bonus’ for its employees, equivalent to one month’s salary and guaranteed tips (if applicable). The bonus is set to be awarded to eligible team members at the Senior Manager grade and below.

According to the announcement released on Friday, GEG mentions that the discretionary bonus will be given to all eligible team members on January 31, 2024.

‘This gesture is a token of appreciation for their hard work and contributions over the past year. Approximately 98 percent of GEG team members will benefit from this bonus,’ the statement reads.

Francis Lui, Vice Chairman of GEG, expressed his gratitude to the team members for their support and encouragement, which played a key role in GEG’s development. He highlighted the collaborative efforts of GEG and its team members in seizing opportunities for post-pandemic recovery and advancing with stability, paving the way for diverse business development through Phase 3 projects.

So far, three out of six of Macau’s gaming operators have announced the Chinese New Year bonus, including MGM China, Sands China, and GEG.

Sands China has also announced its pay raise plan on Thursday, which will increase salaries between 2.5 to 5.4 percent, effective March 1, 2024.
