China is continuing its crackdown on cross border gambling, invalidating the passports of 145 nationals and restricting their departure from the country for three years.
Beijing in March passed amendments to its legislation making it a criminal offence to promote or engage in cross border gambling activities. The government is seeking to stem the outflow of billions of dollars each year, which it says is a threat to national security.
