Cambodia is planning to launch an e-arrival Card starting from January 1st, to facilitate entrance to the country.

The trial period will run until June 30th, with all passengers required to fill out the online form or an alternate paper form upon arrival.

According to statistics, the country recorded some 4.4 million tourists in the first 10 months of the year, up 180 percent yearly.

Cambodia’s primary gaming operator in Phnom Penh, NagaCorp, recently suffered the demise of its founder Chen Lip Keong, at age 75. His son has assumed his role as CEO of the company.

In July 2022, it was revealed that the shares in NagaCorp, previously held either directly or indirectly by the company’s founder, had been transferred to a family trust created for the specific purpose of succession planning.

The founder’s demise was announced following the shift in leadership in Cambodia. Hun Sen, the long-serving prime minister with a 38-year tenure, has stepped down. Taking his place is Hun Manet, the son of Hun Sen, who now serves as the country’s prime minister.

Cambodia now aims to continue to boost its tourism presence within Southeast Asia, as competition intensifies from other neighboring gaming regions.
