GKL 2025 net profit jumps 42.4% on overseas customer growth

Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) reported an increase in net profit of over 40 percent for 2025, driven primarily by a recovery in overseas customer visitation, according to a regulatory filing released on Wednesday.

The South Korean foreigner-only casino operator said its consolidated net income rose 42.4 percent year-on-year to KRW47.1 billion ($32 million), compared with KRW33.1 billion ($22.5 million) in 2024. Net income from continuing operations before income tax increased 44.5 percent to KRW63.1 billion ($42.9 million), reflecting stronger operating performance as international travel normalized.

Sales for the year reached KRW422.9 billion ($287.7 million), up 6.7 percent from KRW396.4 billion ($269.6 million) a year earlier. Operating income climbed sharply by 37.4 percent to KRW52.6 billion ($35.8 million), supported by higher casino utilization and improved cost efficiency.

The company attributed the earnings growth mainly to an increase in foreign patronage, noting that overseas customer numbers rose as travel demand recovered.

GKL operates foreigner-only casinos in South Korea under the Seven Luck brand and is regarded as a key beneficiary of the rebound in inbound tourism.

From a balance-sheet perspective, GKL reported total assets of KRW651.3 billion ($443.2 million) as of the end of 2025, up from KRW616.2 billion ($419.3 million) previously. Total liabilities increased modestly to KRW209.8 billion ($142.8 million), while total shareholders’ equity rose to KRW441.5 billion ($300.4 million) from KRW413.5 billion ($281.4 million) a year earlier.

The disclosure was made in accordance with South Korea’s regulatory requirements on material financial changes, which require listed companies to report year-on-year changes of 30 percent or more in sales or profits or losses. GKL said it does not fall under the classification of a large-sized corporation for disclosure purposes.
