Since Thursday, fully vaccinated visitors have been able to skip mandatory quarantine in South Korea, as long as they are visiting family, travelling for business or for academic or public interest reasons, and as long as they don’t travel from any Covid-19 hot zones.
Travellers will need to present proof of a WHO-approved vaccination, a negative covid-19 test and get advance approval before travelling.
On a parallel note, Phuket as of July 1 has also offered a similar scheme. Domestic travelers entering Phuket must have received at least one dose of an WHO-approved vaccine, or have recovered from covid-19 within 90 days, or they will need to show proof of a negative covid-19 test within seven days prior to arrival.
