MICE association launches online guide to assist event organizers

A Macau association representing the local events industry is launching an online tool by the end of the year aimed at reinvigorating the stalled events industry.

Bruno Simões, president of  the Macau Meetings, Incentives and Special Events Association (MISE) says that they intend to launch an online search engine or guide, from which event organizers can discover information about spaces available, as well as companies that can assist in the delivery of an event.

The covid-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc in Macau. In 2020 the number of MICE events fell from 1,536 in 2019 to 362 in the year.

“Although we have a lot of freedom in Macau, and even in mainland China, there is a reluctance in the market to organize events,” said Simões.
