Daily Asia Gaming eBrief: Macau GGR to increase 5.3% in FY26

Good Morning. Up, up and away. Macau’s gaming sector sees no signs of slowing down, despite fluctuating Chinese consumer sentiment. Analysts at Jefferies are now pointing to a 5.3 percent increase in GGR for the year, based on increased visitation, new capacity and competition between the operators. Sands and Galaxy remain the frontrunners due to their strong mass focus, but MGM is carving its niche in premium. Meanwhile, in South Korea, Grand Korea Leisure says it’s not quite ready to advance with a Seoul casino but that the move isn’t completely off the table, depending on the results of a feasibility study.

Cotai Strip, Macau 2025

Macau GGR expected to rise 5.3% in 2026: Jefferies

A slow start to 2025 bodes well for Macau’s gross gaming revenue to see strong yearly upticks until May. But the good news doesn’t stop there, with analysts at Jefferies pinpointing GGR growth of 5.3 percent for FY26. Both VIP and mass play are expected to improve, with Macau’s largest operators Galaxy and Sands China taking ever-larger pieces of the pie. But premium-focused MGM China is beefing up its offerings to maintain third place, as other operators fight for market share.
