The latest newcomer to South Korea, Mohegan’s Inspire Entertainment Resort revealed on Wednesday that the construction progress for its Phase 1 reached 63 percent completion, being on track to open its doors in the Q4 this year.

Inspire Korea, set to become the largest integrated resort (IR) in Northeast Asia, is located near South Korea’s capital airport – Incheon International Airport. The property features a three-tower luxury hotel with 1,256 rooms, a 15,000-seat arena to host concerts and sporting events, a foreigner-only casino with 700 slot machines.

According to Korean media, Chen Si, COO of the property, said that “we’re hoping to complete construction with our partner Hanwha by September and start opening the resort in the fourth quarter.”

He added that the entire resort, including the casino, is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2024, after getting the hotel rating and casino license.

The company has predicted that the opening of the resort will create 4,000 direct jobs and an influx of additional indirect jobs to the region.

Mohegan is an entertainment resort developer with seven properties in North American cities, including Las Vegas, Inspire Korea is their eighth property and their first property in Asia.

Inspire Korea will become the second IR to open in the area, after Paradise City. The last mentioned project is a joint venture partnership between Korea’s Paradise Co and Japanese gaming firm Sega Sammy Holdings.
