Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) announced that, with the assistance of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR (“the Macau CLO”), GEG and Lui Che Woo Family Charitable Foundation will jointly donate MOP10 million to support relief and recovery efforts following the devastating mudslide in Gyirong County, Xigaze, Xizang Autonomous Region.
The donation comes in response to the severe disaster that recently struck Gyirong Port, causing significant damage to transportation networks, infrastructure, and local livelihoods, while resulting in casualties and considerable property losses. The funds will be dedicated to emergency search and rescue operations, relief supplies, temporary resettlement, medical assistance, and the reconstruction and recovery of affected communities.

Mr. Francis Lui, Chairman of GEG, expressed his concern for those impacted by the disaster, stating, “We are deeply saddened by the devastating mudslide in Gyirong County, Xigaze, Xizang Autonomous Region, and extend our sincere sympathies to the affected residents. We also express our highest respect and gratitude to all frontline rescue personnel for their dedication and tireless efforts. In the face of this tragedy, people from all walks of life have come together swiftly to offer support, reflecting the Chinese nation’s enduring spirit of solidarity, mutual assistance, and unity in times of adversity.”
“As a patriotic enterprise rooted in Macau, GEG remains committed to fulfilling its social responsibilities and responding actively to the Macau SAR Government’s call for support. We hope this donation will provide timely assistance to relief and recovery efforts, helping affected communities overcome this difficult time and begin rebuilding their lives,” Mr. Lui added.
GEG and Lui Che Woo Family Charitable Foundation have long supported charitable causes and disaster relief initiatives, guided by the principle that “what is taken from the community is to be used for the good of the community.”

The organizations also paid tribute to the medical personnel, firefighters, rescue workers, and volunteers working on the frontlines, and expressed their hope that, with the support of the Central Government, the Xizang Autonomous Regional Government, and all sectors of society, affected residents will be able to rebuild their homes and restore normal daily life as soon as possible.
