Nevada Gaming Control Board says mask mandate in Clark County applies to casinos

The Nevada Gaming Control Board has announced that a new mask mandate for all employees in Clark County applies to all business licensees, including casinos within the jurisdiction.

If the businesses fail to follow the mandate “the Board may seek disciplinary action by the Nevada Gaming Commission”. The county itself does not have jurisdiction over gaming properties, but the board does, noting that it is “fully supportive” of the mandate. The measure came into effect at midnight on Wednesday, and while applying to employees, does not apply to patrons. Clark County contributed the majority of Nevada’s record $1.23 billion in gaming win in May, the highest number for house winnings ever. The mask mandate comes as the state reported 931 new coronavirus cases and 28 deaths on Wednesday, the highest figure single-day increase since February 20th.
