Bloomberry Resorts, operator of Solaire, has appointed Gregory Hawkins, former Chief Casino Officer at Star Entertainment Group, as acting Chief Operating Officer (COO) following the retirement of Thomas Arasi.
According to a filing with the Philippines Stock Exchange on December 19th, Hawkins, who had been overseeing Solaire Resort North in Quezon City, officially assumed the interim role on Thursday.
Bloomberry confirmed that Hawkins has been named COO of its operating subsidiary, Bloomberry Resorts and Hotels Inc. (BRHI), where he will take on the responsibilities previously held by Arasi at both Solaire Entertainment City and Solaire North.
Arasi’s retirement as President and COO was announced unexpectedly earlier this week, with the company citing personal reasons for his departure.
Hawkins is a seasoned gaming industry professional with extensive experience. He served as Chief Casino Officer at Star Entertainment from January 2019 to May 2022 and as Managing Director of Star Sydney from September 2014 to January 2019.
Prior to his tenure at Star, Hawkins was the CEO of Crown Resorts’ Melbourne casino. He also served as President of Melco’s City of Dreams casino in Macau.
