The negotiations for a settlement with Imperial Pacific International (IPI) are ongoing. As of Tuesday afternoon, the Commonwealth Casino Commission (CCC) had not taken any official action, while IPI stated they did not have a comment at this time, according to the report.
The fate of IPI’s casino license is anticipated to be determined by the CCC.
“For all intents and purposes, I just don’t think that this settlement can go through. So I guess I’m here to let you know that we don’t have a deal. No settlement is to take place. So you do what you got to do in terms of your decision,” said Executive Director of CCC Andrew Yeom.
The Kuam News reported that the negotiations commenced three days prior. Should the revocation vote proceed, it would hinge on two of five enforcement actions: the first concerning the upkeep of minimum payroll services, and the second pertaining to the non-payment of 2020 regulatory fees.
During public comments, residents expressed both support and opposition.
