Bloomberry Resorts, operator of the Solaire Resort & Casino in Manila, said it has appointed former Chief Justice Diosdado M. Peralta as an independent director.
The appointment was approved by the board on Sept. 24 and became effective immediately, the company said in a filing with the Philippine Stock Exchange.
Peralta was appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines from October 23, 2019 until his retirement on March 27, 2021. He was an Associate Justice in the Supreme Court from 2009 to 2019; Presiding Judge of the Sandiganbayan from 2008 to 2009; Associate Justice of the Sandiganbayan from 2002 to 2008; and Judge in the Regional Trial Court – Branch 95 Quezon City from 1994 to 2000.
Peralta was also elected as an independent director of International Container Terminal Services on August 6th. Bloomberry Chairman and CEO Enrique Razon also controls the shipping company.
