A 21-day lockdown has been announced in Isle of Man to limit the spread of Covid-19, according to the IOM chief minister Howard Quayle.
The island has seen a rise in cases in recent days, which is believed to be brought on by an infected ferry crew member.
Under the measures, people are required to stay at home unless for essential travel or exercise. Hospitality and leisure venues will be shut except for takeaway and delivery services.
The lockdown will undoubtedly be a disturbance to the island’s online gambling business community, with many operators having relocated there recently amid turmoil in Asia.
