South Korea’s Kangwon Land has announced plans to undertake a major renovation of its casino members-only gaming area as part of a broader effort to enhance its facilities and strengthen its positioning as a global integrated resort.
According to a notice released by the company, the remodeling works are running from March 20th, 2026 to April 13th, 2027, with the schedule subject to change depending on on-site conditions.
The project is expected to upgrade the design and functionality of the members-only gaming space, with preview images indicating a shift toward more contemporary interiors, including redesigned lounges, private gaming rooms, and high-end hospitality areas.
Kangwon Land operates the only casino in South Korea that is permitted to serve local players, making its membership segment a key contributor to revenue. The refurbishment is seen as part of a broader strategy to retain premium customers and enhance the overall gaming experience.
The operator has in recent years signaled ambitions to evolve beyond its traditional domestic focus, with efforts to align its offerings more closely with international integrated resort standards. The latest renovation plan reflects that direction, combining upgraded physical infrastructure with a more refined customer environment.
Operations are expected to continue during the renovation period, although some disruption may occur depending on construction progress.
