Casino revenue at the Jeju Dream Tower resort in South Korea rose by some 95 percent monthly in July, totaling KRW20.12 billion ($15.5 million), according to the resort’s operator Lotte Tour Development Co.
In a filing with the Korean Stock Exchange, Lotte noted that the figure was also a fivefold yearly increase.
Machine sales rose 336 percent yearly but rose 188 percent monthly, to KRW2.6 billion ($2 million) ($560,000), while table games brought in KRW 17.53 billion ($13.5 million), up 557 percent yearly and some 86 percent compared to the previous month.
During the first seven months of the year, cumulative casino revenue totaled KRW68.15 billion ($52 million), up 145 percent from the prior-year period.
During the first seven months of the year, hotel sales totaled KRW50.80 billion ($ 39 million), down some 27 percent yearly.
