The Philippines’ DigiPlus Interactive Corp. has announced that it has appointed a new CEO and Chief Digital Officer, amongst the company’s ongoing expansion.
According to a Thursday filing with the Philippine Stock Exchange, Tommy Hu has been appointed as the CEO, while Li Jiaqi has been appointed as CDO.
The CEO hire was internal, with Hu already serving to help development and growth of the group’s BingoPlus arm – the country’s main bingo platform, as well as its entertainment portfolio.
Hu is a ‘seasoned software engineer and strategic business leader with over two decades of experience spanning platform innovation, gaming operations, and enterprise-scale technology leadership’, indicates the company.
The group indicates that in the role of CEO, ‘Mr. Hu leads DigiPlus into its next chapter: expanding into regulated international markets while continuing to set benchmarks in product innovation, player protection, and entertainment excellence’.
Regarding the new Chief Digital Officer Role, Li Jiaqi (Rick) brings experience including a role as the Head of Solutions for South and Southeast Asia at Ant Group, ‘where he orchestrated technical solutions across all product lines’ for the company.
The filing notes that ‘As Chief Digital Officer, Rick is uniquely poised to guide DigiPlus towards digital innovation and success in the ever-evolving digital financial ecosystem’.
DigiPlus has seen rapid expansion to become the leading digital entertainment company in the Philippines in recent years, prompting it to jump to jump from 482nd place on the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 list in 2024 to 223rd in this year’s ranking.
