Macau’s events industry is showing continuous signs of recovery, after a total of 68 conventions and exhibitions were held in Macau in the first quarter of 2021, a rise of 71.7 percent year-on-year, according to Lau Wai Meng, President of Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM).

Lau was speaking at the first plenary ordinary meeting of the Committee for the Development of Conventions and Exhibitions (CDCE), which is tasked with promoting the MICE sector in Macau.

The meeting discussed ways for cross-industry development, and also discussed enhanced MICE training programs, with the aim of helping practitioners to “go global”
