Paul Baker president of SJM Resorts’ flagship property on the Cotai Strip, the Grand Lisboa Palace, is stepping down, according to reports.
Paul Baker has been president of the property since 2018, including overseeing its ill-timed launch in the midst of the pandemic.
Before joining SJM Resorts, Baker served as the Deputy Chief Operating Officer for Genting Malaysia Berhad, between 2014 and 2018.
Baker also served as an Executive Vice President of Resort Operations for Wynn Macau between 2013 and 2014.
Before assuming the Macau role, Baker worked for 11 years for Caesar Entertainment Corporation.
The exit of the property’s president comes as SJM recorded a $241 million loss in the third quarter, with the Grand Lisboa Palace bringing in just $5.88 million in gaming revenue during the period and only registering hotel occupancy of 24 percent.
