Yokohama mayoral recall campaign falling far short

The anti-casino group aiming to trigger a recall election for pro-IR Mayor Fumiko Hayashi is falling far short of the necessary threshold for success. With half of the two month period elapsed, they have gathered only about 41,000 of the needed 500,000. On the other hand, a separate campaign calling for a popular referendum on IR development has collected more than double the 60,000 signatures that it needed.
