Delta Corp gaming revenue up in 4Q24, bolstering results

Indian casino operator Delta Corp experienced a 3.4 percent yearly increase in gaming revenue during the final quarter of 2024, helping boost the group’s revenue by 7.6 percent yearly.

According to the group’s most recent financials, published on Monday, total gaming income totaled Rs1.81 billion ($20.93 million)– a quarterly increase of 2.4 percent.

Revenue from the group’s online skill gaming operations totaled Rs391.3 million ($4.54 million), down by 14 percent yearly and 6 percent quarterly.

Total revenue in 4Q24 totaled Rs2.22 billion ($25.76 million), a quarterly increase of 8.1 percent.

Profit for the period totaled Rs344.8 million ($4 million), up by an impressive 35 percent quarterly, despite being down by 3.5 percent yearly.

For the nine-month period ended December 31st, 2024, the company reported revenue of Rs7.69 billion ($88.9 million), up by 26 percent yearly.

This was boosted by a 22 percent increase in gaming operations revenue, to Rs6.38 billion ($73.84 million).

Profit for the nine-month period totaled Rs1.71 billion ($19.86 million), more than double recorded in the same period of 2022.

Currently the group notes that it has not provided any provisions for impairment in its recent results regarding the ongoing feud over the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on gaming companies, which multiple enterprises are now disputing.

The group indicates that in regards to the GST demands, after filing writ petitions and receiving stay orders from the High Courts, it is ‘of the view that all […] above notices and tax demands are arbitrary in nature and contrary to the provisions of the law. The Companies have challenged such demands and initiated necessary legal proceedings’.

While it remains to be seen how courts will resolve the dispute, gaming operators are confident for a healthy outcome after the court’s recognition.
