Texas casino/sports betting bill dies in committees

A bill to legalize integrated resorts and sports betting in Texas appears to have languished at the committee stage and has not met the deadline for passage by the State Affairs Committee.

The bill was strongly supported by Las Vegas Sands. The operator is sitting on a cash pile of around $6 billion after selling its Las Vegas properties and aside from its interest in Texas has said Asia is a key focus.
