The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has announced a new free ticket offer for the bus and ferry service from Hong Kong to Macau.
The offer is scheduled to commence on February 1st and is designed to encourage visitors to Hong Kong to expand their visit to the neighboring region.
The tourism authority has partnered with a bus service and ferry operators to offer free one-way tickets to all international visitors.
The ferry offer will last for six months and end on July 31st. Thus, the free bus ticket will be valid for seven months, ending on August 31st.
MGTO explains that there is a limited quota for free tickets; however, it doesn’t specify the exact number.
The Macau government previously stated that it had allocated a budget of MOP235 million ($29.2 million) to expand Macau’s international visitor market in 2024.
In addition to attracting international visitors from Hong Kong, MGTO is also collaborating with Macau’s flagship company, Air Macau, to release low-priced tickets. The initiative covers all international destinations serviced by Macau Airlines, excluding mainland China and Taiwan, and offers varying degrees of discounts.
