KOSDAQ game developers move into iGaming, elevating industry trust

Driven by advances in semiconductors and AI, South Korea’s capital market has become one of Asia’s most attractive investment arenas, with KOSDAQ gaming firms now actively exploring global growth pathways.

In June 2025, mobile game developer Me2on announced its entry into the iGaming sector. This was followed in October by OneulENM and Neowiz, both of which launched game provider businesses targeting the regulated online gaming market.

The participation of publicly listed companies is viewed as a positive development for the iGaming industry. As listed corporations are required to comply with strict regulatory, governance, disclosure, and shareholder protection standards, their involvement brings greater transparency, accountability, and credibility to the sector.

Industry observers believe these developments reflect a growing recognition of iGaming as a legitimate digital entertainment industry operating within established regulatory frameworks.

The trend also highlights the increasing willingness of Korean gaming companies to pursue international opportunities while adhering to licensing requirements and compliance standards.

As more regulated operators and publicly traded companies enter the market, the iGaming industry is expected to continue its evolution toward greater institutional acceptance and long-term sustainability.
