PAGCOR’s Chairman Alejandro H. Tengco has exclusively told AGB that it is planning to privatize the casinos under its management, in order to avoid any conflict of interest between its regulatory and operational sides.
The Chairman noted that the privatization plan is currently being studied, with a tender process identified as a likely avenue. If this procedure is followed, the tender would be open to international contenders, not only those currently operating in the Philippines, with the Chairman noting “the more, the merrier”.
The PAGCOR Chairman made the statements ahead of his keynote speech at the ASEAN Gaming Summit in Manila.
