Authorities in the Philippines are lauding new action taken by PAGCOR against a small town lottery (STL) in Cebu, amongst a nationwide STL crackdown.
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and national police launched the operation, arresting some 31 people since June 14th.
The authorities say the action was the first police movement against STL operations and that the authorities have filed charges against the relevant firm.
Authorities say that the company was running an illegal bingo operation, something licensed under PAGCOR.
The group also noted that it was investigating reports of any possible offshore gaming firms offering “unscrupulous” employment.
