Philippine president Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr on Monday led an inspection of a new specialty medical center in the Clark Freeport Zone that was a joint project by PAGCOR and the Bloomberry Cultural Foundation.
PAGCOR Chairman Alejandro H. Tengco and Bloomberry Resorts Chairman and CEO Enrique Razon joined other top government officials in the inspection of the new complex – which encompasses a 5.72 specialty center incorporating heart, kidney and cancer care facilities, as well as a children’s hospital. The facility is the first of its kind in Central Luzon.
The facility’s construction is funded by BCFI – the CSR arm of the Solaire Resort and Casino operator, with an initial budget of PHP500 million for the heart center complex.
PAGCOR and its licensed casinos will procure the medical equipment for the facility.
During the inspection, the Philippine president extended his gratitude to PAGCOR and the Clark Development Corporation, while PAGCOR’s chairman thanked Bloomberry Foundation.
In a release on Monday, PAGCOR noted that the medical center project is ‘part of the casino licensees’ provisional obligation to allot a certain portion of their revenues to their Foundations every month to fund projects related to education, cultural heritage, environment and health’.
