Saipan is aiming to allow certain hotels to operate electronic gaming machines (EGMs), as long as each property has at least 30 rooms.

According to reports from Marianas Variety, the initial framework had allowed for hotels with 100 or more rooms to operate electronic gaming activities. Those with fewer rooms but attached to a golf course were also allowed to operate electronic gaming.

The amendment targets three properties which would be allowed to operate electronic gaming, if the bill clears the floor.

The properties in focus to be allowed to operate EGMs are the Hanamitsu Hotel, the Micro Beach Hotel, and the Pacific Island Inn.
