SkyCity appoints new Chief Information Officer

New Zealand’s SkyCity Entertainment Group Limited has announced the appointment of Andrew McPherson as Chief Information Officer, effective from March 18, 2024 pending all requisite regulatory approvals.

McPherson assumed the role of Interim Chief Information Officer at SkyCity in November 2023.

According to SkyCity, the new CIO brings with him a ‘wealth of experience’, having served in key leadership positions within the New Zealand technology sector, notably as the Chief Technology Officer at Stuff Limited and as the Head of National Design at Spark.

The group also recently announced the appointment of an interim Chief Operating Officer for New Zealand, shortly after SkyCity was ordered by the South Australian Court of Appeal has to pay an additional casino duty of AU$13 million ($8.6 million).
